A Word From My Mind #7: Trek Talk

This week’s podcast is all about the Trek and, for that matter, so is next week’s, but I’m still hopped up on the Trek so I thought I’d talk a little more about Star Trek in general.
I firmly believe there are two kinds of people in this world: Star Trek people and Star Wars people. My father introduced me and my brother to both. I became a die hard Trekkie and my brother became a Wookie, or whatever you call Star Wars fans.
I can’t necessarily recall my earliest memories of Star Trek. They most likely had something to do with the original series. I think that Mom had, for a holiday, either my Dad’s birthday or their anniversary, subscribed my Dad to one of those VHS tape a month clubs. They sent one Star Trek tape a month, two episodes on each tape. I know, I know. What’s VHS? Remember those days?
That’s probably how I got introduced to Star Trek.
Donna’s sitting this one out, because it’s all about the Trek! Jason’s joined by Charly. They just saw the new Star Trek Movie and they want to talk about it.
