
Extreme Makeover: Novel Edition
October 13th, 2009 | by JasonApparently, people still judge books by their covers. I mean that literally. People judge actual books by their covers. This isn’t a real surprise for me. I just thought it would be a good opener for the column.
Some might think that as we head into the digital age, things like book covers would be less important. But in my research of popular Kindle authors, I found that the one thing they all had in common were professional (in the first draft of this I spelled professional wrong. Irony.) looking book covers. So, this past weekend I fired up Photoshop and had my own little makeover show for my books. The original cover’s on the left, the redesign is on the right.

This one was actually posted over the weekend but I’m including for some side-by-side comparison.

The idea was all my wife’s. She came up with it over breakfast Saturday morning. I’ll admit, at first I was a little hesitant, but as she started describing it a little more I really began to like the idea. This was, by far, my favorite of all the redesigns. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
